Characteristics
- 'Hearts - Combination of hit points and hit dice. A character has a set amount of Hearts and each Heart is made up of four Heart Pieces (HP). For each point of damage a character takes, they lose one HP. For monsters, the number of Hearts they have is roughly equivalent to their Level. Starts at 2 for all characters
- Mana Pool - The maximum amount of arcane energy a character can access, providing a cap for their personal Mana Point reserve. Mana Points can be spent to cast spells, power magic items or otherwise perform magical feats. Starts at 1 for all characters
- Close Range Combat (CRC) - A bonus to Conflict Rolls made with melee weapons, such as swords or spears. Starts at 0 for all characters
- Long Range Combat (LRC) - A bonus to Conflict Rolls made with ranged weapons, such as thrown axes, bows or guns. Starts at 0 for all characters
- Defense (DEF) - The target number that enemies must meet or exceed to make contact with a Conflict Roll for an attack. Starts at 7 for all characters
- Armor (ARM) - The amount of incoming damage that is blocked passively by a character. While this depends upon type of armor worn and the species of the character, a standard human-like character will have a base Armor value of 10
- Save - A bonus to Conflict Rolls made to resist effects that cannot be actively avoided, such as certain magic spells, diseases or other forces of nature. Starts at 0 for all characters
- Conviction - A reserve of inner power that a character may spend to push themselves beyond their usual limits. A character cannot have more than 3 Conviction points at any one time
